what 2015 made me realize

There comes a time that you will have to cut your ties with people who clearly do nothing but poison your life. No matter who they are, no matter hard it is.

If you don’t like the situation you are in, don’t complain. Instead, do something. Taking the first step is always the hardest, I know. But remember the first time you cross a hanging bridge, scary at first but once you get to the end of the bridge, you realize despite the fear, there’s relief and happiness for being able to do something that frightens you and being able to overcome it.

You have to rely and depend on yourself. Discover your capability to stand on your own against hardships. Fall in love with guys or with girls but do not forget to fall in love with yourself.

Family can betray you. Whether, it’s your mother who seems to be always making excuses and can’t keep a promise or your father who just transferred his sperm and decided to leave. It doesn’t matter. You’ll find people who you can call family.

So what if you’re still single? So what if everyone has someone to kiss under the mistletoe? So what if you’re still a bridesmaid?  Does being in a relationship has a deadline? So enjoy because being alone isn’t that bad. It gives you time to find out and be who you want to love.

Dance in your own heartbeat. It’s okay to be different, it’s okay to be weird. You don’t have to follow the trend. Be unique! Be who you are whether it is a unicorn.

There are friends who become family. People who will be there for you no matter how shitty your life is. Embrace them, value them.

There are homes that don’t feel like one. You can live in different places and still not feel like being home. But that’s okay, you’ll find it or maybe something that’s close to it. Place where you finally belong. I’m still looking for it though; I hope we all find it.

There are things that aren’t meant to happen no matter how you try and how much you want it to happen.

Prayer works. I’m not religious, I don’t pray often nor do I go to church every Sunday. But that doesn’t mean that God will abandon you. Pray, pray with all your heart,  pray genuinely and he will hear it. He always does.

Happy new year everyone! I hope this year brings you hope, peace, and good health. Always remember life is shitty but it sure is wonderful too.

love,

Maggiexx
